Children in Year 1 and 2 have all taken part in Direction Week at school. They have all been learning directional language such as forwards, backwards, left, right, half and quarter turns. Other groups had lots of fun solving a treasure hunt in the playground, using co-ordinates on a map and listening carefully to follow instructions when using a giant parachute in the Hall. Feedback from all the children was positive and we will do another maths week next term. Great work all!

During Building Week, we have been very lucky to have Mr Roberts come in to talk to the children about his job as an architect. Over three sessions, children learnt about the role of a client, design a beach house for Lego Batman, build triangles out of spaghetti and marshmallows, learn about, and build different types of bridges, using different materials. Thank you so much Mr Roberts for all your time coming in to school!
On Tuesday, children got to enjoy making a Lego village with Year 3 and at the end of the day parents enjoyed seeing the completed work. Well done everyone for all your amazing ideas and working so well with different people!
Children used large maps of the school grounds to locate different parts of the playground. With a partner they started to add more detail to highlight geographical features. The sun was shining and everyone was on task and happy. Well done 2B!
